The Dover, Delaware, police department released a statement suggesting its investigators first heard about the allegation at 2 p. m. Wednesday.
"The department continues to be investigating the victim's claims and won't have any further inquire into this matter so as to preserve the integrity from the case, " police within the Delaware capital mentioned.
Busch's attorney, Rustic Hardin, said his client expects being vindicated.
"This allegation is really a complete fabrication by the woman who has refused to just accept the end of the relationship, and Mr. Busch vehemently denies her allegations in each and every respect, " he said in the written statement.
Information on the claim have not been released. NASCAR contests were held within Dover on September 27 and 28.
Mike Arning, a spokesman intended for Busch's Stewart-Haas Auto racing team, said, "This is surely an allegation Stewart-Haas Racing takes very critically, but we're still gathering each of the facts and are not capable to comment in increased detail. "
NASCAR released a new statement of its own, saying its officials are "aware from the investigation. "
"We recognize the seriousness on this matter and usually are actively gathering data from all events, including law enforcement government bodies and Stewart-Haas Racing, " NASCAR mentioned.
Busch is ranked 14th within the NASCAR's Sprint Cup standing, though he's no longer in contention due to this year's championship. He won the driving circuit's top winning prize in 2004.
He's scheduled to race next in Sunday's Quickens Financial loans Race for Heroes 500 in Arizona's Phoenix International Raceway.
